This version of a Dark Ranger is based loosely upon Dark Ranger Clea in Undercity, whom we have included a picture of at the bottom of this article. Note that Clea does not wear any shoulderpads, although we have included a couple of fitting options for this armor slot anyway.

Head – Cowl of Defiance (Drops from Netherspite, in Karazhan at an 18% drop chance)
Shoulders – Mistshroud Shoulders (Drops from Ethereum Prisoner, in Blade’s Edge Mountains)
Back – Master’s Cloak (BoE world drop)
Chest – Tunic of Assassination (Drops from Pathaleon the Calculator, the final boss of The Mechanar. The drop chance is 13-14% in both Normal and Heroic modes)
Wrists – Nightfall Wristguards (Drops from Heroic Epoch Hunter in Old Hillsbrad Foothills. The drop chance is 20%)
Gloves – Handgrips of Assassination (Drops from Aeonus, in Normal and Heroic versions of The Black Morass. The drop chance is 15%)
Waist – Girdle of the Deathdealer (Drops from Heroic Aeonus in Black Morass. The drop chance is 15%)

• Mm, then there's heroes like the Tinker and the Dark Ranger that are brilliant when you know how to use them, but I'd say Tinker is the harder one to use properly as the Dark Ranger is fairly easy in terms of Silence. Other than that, it's mostly Black Arrows you'll be focusing on in the most common scenarios.
• Yes, dark rangers. Not dark warriors, dark warlocks, dark mages, etc. Adding dark ranger customization means playable undead blood elf which is a dumb idea. Adding it for hunters would mean having to add it for all other classes as well. Nope, the lore doesn’t need to be tossed out the window.

After years of watching pro replays, I finally found JUST ONE pro replay in which somebody trained a Dark Ranger with Life Drain. Now, for a Dark Ranger 1st or 2nd, the reasons for wanting Black Arrow and Silence are obvious, but for a 3rd hero (which you do find the Dark Ranger being reasonably often), Life Drain would seem to be a logical choice, especially when you are up against an Undead.

The following shoulders also fit the appearance rather well and provide a leather alternative to the above:
Shoulders – Shoulderpads of Assassination (Drops from Talon King Ikiss, in both Normal and Heroic modes of Sethekk Halls. The drop rate is between 12-14%)
